Women are more susceptible to developing bleeding gums and gum disease when they are pregnant which is why they are entitled to free dental check ups during pregnancy and in the months after giving birth. Very good plaque control is important when you are expecting. Visit your hygienist more often when pregnant to receive maintenance cleaning and advice regarding your oral health routine at home.
